Use less energy for the same amount of lighting.
The CL-3 is a green replacement for an incandescent bulb housed in a lamp. The CL-3 will provide light equivalent to a 30 Watt incandescent light bulb
Why do they cost so much? Don't be fooled. These are not CFL bulbs which DO contain mercury and which are not environmentally friendly because they do. There are LED bulbs and they do not contain mercury. Expect them to last longer and they will pay for themselves in savings about five times over the life of the bulb.

No RF interference: important in hospitals, dispatch rooms etc.

Crisper color rendering: CFLs simply can't compete with the overall quality of light produced by LEDs. Many people complain CFLs make them feel dreary.

LEDs can be switched on and off without performance reduction, this is important for use in places such a a normal household where lights are turned on and off frequently. CFLs lifespan is significantly shortened by activities such as this.
LEDs contain no harmful substances ;) Expanding upon this though, CFLs are a potential hazard for people with children and pets.
The CL-3 Bulb like all EarthLEDs is amazingly efficient. Although it only draws 3 watts of electricity, it performs like a 30 Watt light bulb while at the same time operating below 125 degrees Fahrenheit. The end result is reduced cooling costs and operational safety above and beyond that of traditional incandescent bulbs.
Longer bulb life means more savings.
Imagine a bulb with a life span of over 50,000 hours. That translates, based on average use, to an amazing light output and energy cost savings for over 11 Years. A comparable incandescent bulb will need to be replaced over 50 times in the same time frame.
Let’s talk dollars and cents.
Over an 10 year period, the average comparable incandescent bulb, running 4,000 hours a year for 11 years will cost you $450.00 to run. Compare that with a 3-Watt LED bulb which will cost you $1.30 a year to run, based on 12 hours use a day. So you’ll pay $35.00 over that 11 year period rather than $230.00 for the incandescent bulb.
Now let’s talk Green.
Other than sunlight, Earth LEDs are the most environmentally friendly light source. They use no hazardous substances and are RoHS compliant (a strict new standard calling for the elimination of hazardous substances). You've probably heard a lot about Compact Florescent Bulbs or CFL. These have been touted as a solution to the inefficiencies of incandescent but because they are made with mercury, they are not an ideal environmentally sound solution. With the long life you will achieve from your EarthLED bulb, you will save on the disposal of approximately 50 incandescent bulbs and 5 mercury tainted, compact fluorescent bulbs. That helps reduce landfill pressure.

No matter which temperature you choose, you will always get pure, clear light that makes reading or viewing objects easy on the eyes.
